Senator Gaetz is the former Superintendent of Okaloosa County Schools who spearheaded the “CHOICE” Institutes there, which are the model for our Centers of Excellence in Pinellas County. Sen. Gaetz sponsored Senate Bill 1232, the Florida Career and Professional Education Act, which mandates that all students in every Florida county must have access to career academies by the 2008-2009 school year.
