Telecommuting and Improving the Bottom Line

Pinellas County, FL (April 5, 2005)- Telework Tampa Bay will host a one day conference for Tampa Bay area employers, which will address the benefits of telecommuting (or teleworking) and how employers can establish a successful program.  The conference, Improving the Bottom Line, A One Day Conference for Employers, will be held April 28^th from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm at the Quorum Hotel in Tampa. Participants will learn how to implement the latest technical innovations and discuss programs with local employers who have successfully integrated telework into their worksites.

Jessica White of Telework Tampa Bay is helping to lead efforts to promote the benefits of telework to the region’s companies, “Local businesses can realize productivity increases in the range of 10 – 20%, as well as an average decrease in absenteeism of 2-4 days per teleworker per year.  Increasingly, companies are finding that teleworking is not only an effective business strategy, but also an essential tool in preparing for, and recovering from, a natural or man-made disaster.”  The conference will highlight telework as an emergency management, disaster preparedness and recovery tool for this year’s hurricane season.
