Pinellas County businesses contributed approximately 62% of the Drugs Industry Group output during 2002: USF's Center for Economic Development Research (CEDR) December 2002 study of the medical products industry in Tampa Bay reveals that of the $740 million produced by the Drugs Industry Group, $455 million or 62% of this economic activity is attributable to businesses that are located in Pinellas County. By 2007, output of the Drugs Industry Group is expected to grow to $884 million in the seven county Tampa Bay region.
