| The High Tech Council, a joint effort of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, will present:
“Hiring and Retaining the Best – Today and in the Next Decade,”
a free program to be held at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, preceded by registration and continental breakfast beginning at 7:45 a.m., at Florida Blood Services.
The program features a case study of the experience Linvatec Corporation has had in analyzing and revising their recruitment and retention programs. Topics will include the cost of replacing staff, how to interview, what retention means in the new flatter organization, what you can offer to attract the best and brightest and what has been most successful at Linvatec. The panel discussion, led by Karen Hutto, Manager of Human Resources at Linvatec Corporation, will include commentary by Barry Brown of Effective Resources, Barbara Bauer of Omnia Group and Steuart Charlson of the West Coast Employers Association.
“By providing an actual case study of our experience at Linvatec, with presentations by the individuals who have consulted with us, we believe we will provide practical information that will be of great value to our audience,” says Program Chairperson Allison Schlener, Group Manager of Operations, Linvatec.
Florida Blood Services is sponsor of the event, and will offer tours of their facility after the program. The seminar is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are requested by 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23.
